Do you do hair too?
This is the question I get asked the most. Unfortunately, no, I do not do hair, I can straighten and put my hair in a ponytail, and that’s about it ha! However, I can recommend some amazing mobile hairstylists who I have worked with many times over the years:
Lauren did my hair for my cousin’s wedding, I loved it! Lauren is based in York and is also a recommended supplier for Sandburn Hall. She also travels to Scarborough venues.
I met Lauren at a York wedding, thinking the above Lauren was booked. Lauren is also very talented, she is based in York and lovely to be a part of your wedding morning.
Becky co-owns the Scarborough salon Novia, where April also works. April is also a recommended supplier for Hackness Grange.
Cara moved away from the salon, Novia to setup herself. She has a lovely summer house now to welcome clients and brides-to-be.
Anna has great attention to detail. I love her styling! She is based in Malton but travels to numerous venues.
What makeup do you use?
I carry a wide range and whilst I do have my favourites, as an artist my kit is always changing to keep up with product releases. Some brands that I carry in my case include Charlotte Tilbury, Rare Beauty, Lisa Eldridge, Hourglass, Bobbi Brown, Nars, and Vieve.
Do I need a bridal makeup preview appointment?
Yes! All brides are required to have a makeup preview. It is essential for you to feel comfortable and happy in the makeup look for your wedding day. This appointment allows you to wear the makeup all day to see how it lasts, sit on your skin, and see how it looks in different lights. Also, I like to discuss many aspects of the day with you to help create your makeup look and assist with any concerns regarding your skincare and makeup.
When should I arrange my makeup preview appointment for?
I recommend having a makeup preview 1-6 months before your wedding date. If you have a particular date in mind, please get in contact, and I will try my best to organise this.
All makeup previews are held at my home studio in Burniston, Scarborough.
What do I do if I do not know what I would like regarding my makeup look?
As part of the bridal makeup package you will receive The Ultimate Bridal Beauty Guide. Part two has lots of hints and tips where to look and how to gather bridal makeup inspiration ready for your makeup trial.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as possible! This is my top tip for any of your suppliers. If you love their work get a deposit paid to secure the date, you can discuss and choose finer details over the months leading to your wedding day.
The average booking time frame is around one and half years prior to your wedding date.
How long will it take on my wedding day?
I allow just over an hour for the bride and approximately forty-five minutes for each other member of the bridal party. I always leave time after the last person to do finishing touches on the entire bridal party to ensure everybody is happy with their makeup look. I aim to finish all makeup application around an hour before your ceremony time.
However, as one of my brides, you will receive access to your own bridal portal “WedQuarters” which includes a wedding morning scheduler. This will be discussed in more detail when we meet at your bridal preview appointment.
How do I secure my booking with you?
I require the agreement of my terms and conditions and a £100 non-refundable deposit. Once you’re happy to go ahead and secure your date, please accept the quote via the link to your Wed Quarters, which can be found on the enquiry email.
Once both the agreement and deposit are received, your date will be reserved. The deposit is non-refundable.
Enquiries do not reserve your date, therefore I recommend reserving your date as early as possible.
