In October 2019 I visited Rushpool Hall in Saltburn-by-the-Sea for the first time, to be the wedding makeup artist for a beautiful autumnal wedding.
Over the last seven years, I have revisited some venues multiple times where I now have favourite spots in the bridal suites to set up for the perfect natural lighting. I truly believe wedding venues in the North Yorkshire area have some amazing scenery and grounds. Rushpool Hall included!
Bride, Emma contacted me in the summer of 2019, and I was instantly intrigued by the venue as it did not look like any I had been to before. It appeared very grand when arriving with the long driveway through the estate but as I entered into one of the reception rooms there was a warm welcoming feeling… The time of year may have helped, as it was a crisp autumn morning, and walking into the warm hues of the décor and furnishings brought an instant cosy feeling.
Emma had a large bridal party and an even bigger bridal suite to get ready in. With myself, the hair stylist and photographer present throughout the morning there was no worrying about bumping into each other. I had a whole table to myself and my makeup kit in front of bay windows – Any wedding makeup artists dream setup!
I can imagine so many brides are persuaded by the amazing staircase within Rushpool Hall, it holds so many exciting photo opportunities… Re-enacting Rose walking down the staircase to Jack in Titanic or Princess Mia’s entrance to her Coronation haha!
In all seriousness, though the photography from Emma’s wedding day is amazing. All by Angela Waites, who I have worked with at previous weddings and can highly recommend! Angela’s style really captured the grandeur of the venue along with the little details from throughout the day, like the Colin and Connie wedding cake.
Emma’s makeup look was perfectly suited for her wedding day and time of year. I used warm golden, champagne shadows on her eyes, and a nude pink tone on the lips and cheeks. Emma’s makeup look was polished and naturally enhancing, especially with the strip lashes which made her eyes pop!
Some lovely words from Emma…
“From the trial to our wedding day the makeup was flawless, perfect, and individually tailored to each of us. Incorporating vegan/cruelty-free to suit our party. Jess was polite and welcoming to our big day. Thank you again, Jess your expertise ensured we all looked fab x”
I cannot wait to visit again next summer; I can imagine an outdoor wedding in the grounds would be just as beautiful. If you have booked your wedding at Rushpool Hall I would love to hear from you about your wedding plans and to create your dream bridal makeup look.
